The Flower Hutch is a family owned farm that started business as a native cut flower farm 1993, raising larkspur, zinnias, dahlias and more to sell to florists and farm stands in the area. We would deliver them in our station wagon every day as the orders came in. We were able to make enough money for our first greenhouse, where we grew specialty niche plants like potted bulb dahlias, gerbera daisies, and jumbo pack non-stop begonias, to go along with the cut flowers. We continued with these items and poinsettias at Christmas for a few more years. Based on demand greenhouses replaced the cut flower fields. In 1999, we expanded to six greenhouses, and in 2002 we built a gutter connect greenhouse and added more greenhouses.
Now we are operating 10 greenhouses, equaling 50,000 sq.ft of growing area. There is also three acres of outdoor growing area. We grow a variety of plant material such as perennials, herbs, and specialty annuals like dahlias, gerbera daisy, ranunculus, pack vegetables and much more. We also broker plant material such as orchids, indoor flowering, and indoor foliage from Canada, Hawaii, Florida, and California. We offer plant product 52 weeks a year.
We sell to independent garden centers, florists, farm stands, landscapers and designers. Our selling area reaches all around New England from southern Vermont, New Hampshire, Massachusetts and Rhode Island.
The Flower Hutch is a member of the Massachusetts Flower Growers Association, the Massachusetts Nursery and Landscape Association, the Massachusetts Farm Bureau, and the Massachusetts Horticultural Society. We strongly support buying local agricultural products and sustaining open space.
We work very hard at providing high quality product and service at very competitive prices. Our plants are fully grown and quite sturdy. They have instant sales appeal. Many times, our plants will sell right off the delivery truck. We take pride in our work and believe the plants show it.
Customers are always welcome to the farm to look around and discuss what is and will be available. We are easy to find. We hope you’ll give us a try.
Thanks, The Flower Hutch
